Now my 2 pennies worth in regards to the Screenshot.

I felt the screenshot was incorrectly allowed. Let me explain why.
Mafia is a game of wit and strategy, it has nothing to do with the truth. The game itself is based on players ability to bluff and bluster their way through. To lie, deceive and generally pull the wool over other players. If we are able to bring 'proof' into the game the game will not survive.

The original game of Mafia was done in a single room with players sitting on chairs in a circle with their eyes closed, the Moderator would go around the circle and tap the Mafia on their heads and they would then open their eyes and acknowledge each other, once eyes were closed the Moderator would then tap the other roles, Doc, Cop etc respectively. When players were lynched/killed they had to leave the circle...our game here on the forum must be played the same way.

When SW came out as the Cop, I knew the Mafia were in trouble, I made the decision to also come out as the Cop to put doubt into the minds of the town. I spent a little over an hour putting together my tall tale, it had to be believable....one screenshot later and it was all for nothing. I expected SW to come out and fight for the right to be the Cop, the town would have to make a choice as to who they believed...if SW then the Mafia would still have been in trouble, but we might have come close to winning...if the town had believed me (remember that Ann R Kist was willing to be the scapegoat to ensure that the town believed my story), then the outcome to the game would have been entirely different.

Also, by allowing the screenshot, it effectively destroyed the Mafia, my tall tale would only work the way I had written it...outing Ann R Kist, mentioning tubby and stimp, when the screenshot was published, it showed that my tale was false but also showed who all the mafia members were.

Now, I am not saying for one minute that the result would have been different to what it was, however, this we will never know, we were never given the chance to play it out....

As such I would like to suggest that all outside influences like screenshots are disallowed, I would go one step further and suggest that players that are still in the game should not be allowed entry into the Ghost area (this is very simple to do with this forum by creating groups). I would be interested in any feedback regarding these two suggestions.

Please keep in mind that I am not having a go at the Moderator (well I am having a little one :-D) but the decision was made and we played with that decision. I would just like you all to consider the other possible outcomes had it not be allowed, and to ensure that we do not allow it in the future....

You're absolutely right about the screenshot tal I agree with you 110% everyone does, they will not be allowed in the future that was decided immediately after the one in this game was used.

We decided to allow it for this one game simply because several people had already seen it making just removing it not an option and it would be unfair to have penalized the cop or the town because we had not stated that there was a rule against it, SW had no reason to believe he was doing anything wrong. The only other option would have been calling the game and I don't think the screenshot was severe enough to warrant that. So now it's an official site rule no screenshots of PMs allowed.

Allowing ghosts to talk IMO should remain at the discretion of the mod keep in mind the games played with a group of people sitting in the center of the room lasts hours, maybe, where as the forum games can last weeks depending on the size of the game imagine being forced to sit in the corner for a week while your friends continue to play it doesn't sound like fun, especially if you're one of the first to be hit/lynched. However I see you're side of this issue as well which is why I believe leaving it to the mod of each game is best that way we have some games with ghosts some games with no ghosts what so ever. Everything is up for debate however and if most members feel ghosts are unfair then they can be made against the rules I will have to wait for the ok from Crystal but I would be willing to set up a poll abut this, the options being, ghosts, no ghosts and let the mod decide, that way an anonymous poll can decide this issue democratically.

I wanted to say to Camn it was nothing personal and sure i could have accused Gto but i diddn't like that move because gto may not have been around to defend himself thus i would learn nothing form it. so it was nothing personal and i look forward to the next game.

cause i wanted to walk out into the middle of town and take it like i man when the cop had noticed my tool left next to his car when i tampered with his brakes, I knew i was finshed so i walked to the middle of town awated my arrest and went quietly to the gallows, ( Iknow it was late but that would have been cool) lol

I agree with not allowing screenshots, but I think ghosts should be allowed. But I'm ok with leaving it up to the Mod.

A ghost can't really influence in the game process if the mafia are good liers...

breadcrumbing, of course, is the art of leaving secret messages inside your posts. for instance.. if you look very closely at the capital letters in this post. . you can see i breadcrumbed a little message in. a weak, obvious breadcrumb.. but there.

In all the games involving ghosts that we have played so far the cop was never able to inform the town of the results of his investigations after his death, that is the reason I urged the cop to come out this game before he was hit. But as always it's at the mods descretion but I agree Camn letting the cop reveal his investigations after his death is kinda unfair.

Then the mod could not give the cop the result of the investigation if he's getting hit... That's what I did when I was modding, I withheld that information when he had a guilty verdict. I even stated so in the thread.

I think it would be very boring for ghosts not to be allowed to participate in any way...

One decision helped loads to your victory. That was the night that wave was targeted and saved by gtosdad. The votes were 3 - 1 to go for wave that night, the other person we were discussing for that kill was wayne. So I think we could have had a different outcome if we'd silenced wayne before he could reveal anything.

Surely you guys who are saying ghosts should be allowed are not suggesting that if for example the cop had 3 innocent and 1 guilty verdict. If he hasnt come out to the town before death, then surely he wouldnt be allowed to hop on the ghost thread and reveal his investigations?

Of course if a cop has been wasted in any way then any evidence they have received that they've not already posted has to go to the grave with them. But I still think that we should have ghosts.

Re: Anrkissed modding a game. The game moderator has to be fair. The only way to ensure that he would mod fairly is if there was an additional moderator watching over his decisions. So what would be the point? Might as well just make the additional moderator the game mod and skip the bs in the middle.

If someone is given the opportunity to Mod a game, then they should Mod the game. How they Mod it is up to them, if they don't Mod it well the players will say so, and they may never Mod one again. I don't think we need a Mod to Mod the Mod. ??

This guy loves chaos. His enjoyment, as we all know and I've said over a dozen times in these games, is for the town to be in chaos. It matters not what role he has been assigned. I already dread the time he becomes a cop or other important innocent role. I can't possible imagine what kind of nightmare he would wrought if he were to be placed in charge of a game.

yah but still if you don't like him as a mod you really don't have to play his game, and we never know untill we let the guy try, I believe his game play may be one thing but i think his enjoyment for the game would take over and run a decent game
